Speedo’s Cafe – Bondi

If you’re looking for a place to chill overlooking Bondi beach with warm ambiance, great service, amazing food and legit Instagrammable pictures, Speedo’s Cafe Bondi is the perfect choice!

It was a beautiful day in Sydney and my friends and I were in dire need of a catch up. Sam is the queen of Urban List so she’s the go-to person when it comes to restaurants and bars. She’s also vegan so we always have to cater her herbivore needs. Julia and I agreed to go to Speedo’s Cafe as long as they serve meat, that is and always be the deal-breaker. LOL. The last time we agreed going to a restaurant (Bodhi) with Sam, we didn’t know it was all vegetarian/vegan.

Speedo’s Cafe is situated by the beach walk so it’s very accessible for everyone, it’s right next to North Bondi RSL if that’s any help. Anyways, the first thing that will greet you as you enter this tiny and cosy cafe are the uhhhmazing cronuts! They have at least eight selections and I’m pretty sure you would want to order all of them! We were lucky to be able to find seats since everything was pretty much occupied.

It took us at least 15 minutes to decide what to order since we wanted to get everything on the menu! In the end, I ordered a wagyu burger and freezochino. Sam got the vegan burger (surprise, surprise) and lazy summer smoothie (pineapple, coconut and banana) whilst Jules ordered their special of the day, pink pittaya bowl (similar to acai bowl). As the big eaters that we are, we also got a coconut chia pot on the side to share. They made a mistake by bringing us an acai bowl instead of the pink pittaya but Julia has already started eating it – so it was on the house. Boyyyyy, that lunch was so filling! Oink!  It was a devastating moment when I couldn’t fit a cronut in my tumtum anymore. 🙁 We made a pact that we’ll go back there again!

The table of happiness: freezochino, wagyu burger, lazy summer, acai bowl, coconut chia pot and vegan burger – pink pittaya bowl not in the picture.

Fresh as!

If you decide to pop in for a visit this weekend, you’ll probably see me in the corner indulging on my acai bowl and everything else on the menu!

FYI: They have an automatic 10% surcharge on weekends and public holidays. I say it’s worth it though, the service was good and the food was spot on!

TIP: Try to get there early as they get really full easily or try to make a reservation beforehand.
