POP! Hotel Kuta Beach Review

The joy of browsing hundreds of budget hotels in Bali at a bargain price is every budget traveler’s dream. You’ll never have to worry about those rustic beds in a rundown guesthouses as there are plentiful of newly built trendy hotels to choose from!

POP! Hotel Kuta Beach topped my list of budget hotels as it is right smack in the middle of Legian – a short walk to Kuta Beach and a stone’s throw away to the bustling Legian road. But what really made me decide to book it was its irresistible price on Agoda for 17USD a night!

The street going to the hotel is narrow and walled but well-lighted at night. It was a bit sketchy for me at first but it felt safe throughout my stay.

Upon arriving at the front desk, they will ask you to do the usual check-in procedure and will hand you the room key right after.

POP! Double Room

I booked a double room that was on sale on Agoda and requested to be in the top most floor with pool view. Upon entering the room, I was surprised that my request was granted as I failed to advise the staff.

The room is basic but spacious and bursting with bright colors. The bed is surprisingly big and comfortable. There’s also a couch but I only used it to put my stuff as it is almost as hard as rock.

The bathroom is a bit strange as it is a crescent-shape portalet but works like a regular bathroom.

Amenities

The lap pool definitely made me book this hotel. I wanted a budget hotel that has a big pool where I could dip after a long day – POP! Hotel did not disappoint! I enjoyed having rounds of lap in a cold chest-deep pool.

The wifi signal and speed were satisfying but if you need a desktop for whatever purposes, there are a number of computers in the lobby which are free to use.

The beach is only less than 2 minute walk from the hotel but there is a free shuttle which takes you to the beach and back to the hotel.

Buffet breakfast

The room I booked did not come with breakfast but the staff was kind enough to give me breakfast coupons upon learning that I was only by myself.

The breakfast has very limited Indonesian food choices. Unfortunately, it was quite a bit bland even though they change the food choices everyday, but it was enough to fill my tummy. If you are picky with food, I would suggest having breakfast outside the hotel.

Checking out was a breeze as I only handed my room key and off I went.

Overall, my stay was pleasant and never did I encounter any problems. I would definitely recommend the hotel to everyone as it is value for money.
